MAŠA Milivojević is the first baby born in the Šabac maternity hospital in the New Year, whose mother has a residence in the city of Šabac. The girl was born last night at 9:15 pm.
Congratulations on the new arrival, the mayor of Šabac, Dr. Aleksandar Pajić, presented the mother, Jasmina, with a voucher of 100,000 dinars and appropriate gifts today.
– The city of Šabac is doing everything to support mothers through pro-natal measures. For the year 2025, we have allocated a total of 32 million dinars for payments to mothers for the firstborn, second-born, and every subsequent child. The allocations for the purchase of newborn packages have been increased from four to five million. Funds are provided in the city budget for couples who will try to have children through in vitro fertilization in the total amount of three million dinars.
– It is important that as a society we create conditions for our children to be born – emphasized Mayor Pajić congratulating the Milivojević family. He wished little Maša a happy and carefree childhood.
For the Milivojević family, this is the most beautiful New Year’s gift as they have fought for offspring for eight years.
– The delivery went smoothly. I gave birth naturally. The baby received the highest grade. We waited for Maša for eight years. The feeling cannot be described in words. Thank you to the city of Šabac for the gift voucher – said mother Jasmina.
In the year 2024, 947 babies were born in the Šabac maternity hospital.
– From month to month, the number of newborn babies in our maternity hospital is increasing. We have a new team in this department, a generational shift is underway, and there is a noticeable positive energy, enthusiasm, and dedication. In 2024, we also had 11 twin pregnancies. I think that this year the birth rate will be even better – said the director of the General Hospital „Dr. Laza K. Lazarević“, Dr. Slobodan Popović.
