Opera „Simon Boccanegra“ by Giuseppe Verdi, with a new solo cast, will be performed on June 26th (7:00 pm) under the conductorship of Đorđe Pavlović and directed by Mario Paolo del Monaco.

In the last performance of this season, characterized by inspired melodiousness and a refined sense of stage drama, the title role will be played by Vladimir Andrić, with Mihailo Šljivić, Sanja Kerkez, Marko Živković, Luka Jozić, Stefan Pavlović, Andreja Kalezić, and Slobodan Živković also in the cast.

Sanja Kerkez, who will play the role of Amelia Grimaldi, describes her character as follows:

„Amelia is a young girl who grows up in very complicated circumstances. This makes her more mature, so Verdi wrote her lines more in the central register, while the phrases are quite broad.“

This describes her personality and shows her determined character to protect those she loves, which are Gabriele, the man she loves, and her father, whom she discovers after so many years. I wouldn’t want to reveal any more details of the libretto, but I invite the audience to come and see the performance and experience it in their own way – says Kerkez.
